Hi,
My 1996 DSE is throwing out all bunch of gearbox faults. Faster when hot.
The faults are:
1. MES2 fault
2. Throttle Position Fault
3. Engine Torque Fault
4. Invalid Fault
Is the box done, or should we look for something electrical?
Thanks!

Diagnostics first port of call. But checking battery volts/alternator and connections to gearbox ECU maybe a good idea. MES2 is a sport mode low range high range mix up everything else is also electrical.

As Wammers said, first check battery & alternator. As well as the connections to the gearbox ECU, check the loom and connector to the box itself and the big connector between the underbonnet fuse box and the brake pump, also the earth strap from the engine to the chassis.

Thanks!
We have 13.7 volts on the battery and 13.9 on the alternator (2K RPM with no load). Is this really that low?

Should be 14.2 volts and a 0.2 volt drop from the alternator to the battery is not good either.
You have a problem either with the alternator or battery holding the alternator voltage down. Sort that then see if you still have other problems.
