Hey all. This must have been mentioned before but I couldn't find any threads using the search.

I'm after fitting some driving lamps to my roof rack but everywhere I look it says its not possible on the 07 model due to the air conditioning.

I would quite happily order the parts and do it myself but I was just after some advice first.

I can see why air con would stop you fitting driving lamps at the front (the grille is further forward) but can't see why it should effect the roof.
Are you talking options before purchase, fitting LR Genuine, or fitting aftermarket?

I'm after fitting LR genuine parts. I might be wrong but the Hella 5000's are LR genuine? They are advertised in the LR accessories brochure but the '**' next to them denotes that they are not compatible with air conditioned vehicles but I can't see why. I can't spot anywhere online that's got any info about this matter either.

Your roof rack is outside and on top of the car so what difference would air con make ??????
You're not fitting them in front of the radiator so I can't see a problem.

Here is a print screen of the page from the LR accessories booklet.

LR are assuming you are going to mount them on a A frame in front of the radiator in which case they could affect the air flow through the air con heat exchanger. Putting them on the roof is no problem at all other than they are mahoosive and could catch on tree branches when green laning. Not to mention the aero dynamics so I wont.

Thought I'd put an update on that I've completed the job and if I ever get round to it I'll document how I did it all.
