Got in the car the other day and went to put the window down and the missus said 'Oh yes, I forget to say, that doesn't work any more'. Just as well it wasn't the brakes.

Checked the fuses and Lo! the fuse is blown. My God, I thought, a problem that's easy and cheap to solve, and God chuckled quietly to himself.

So I replace the fuse and... nothing. Still doesn't operate. No noise, nothing. The new fuse is still intact so the problem now lies elsewhere I think. Before I start the whole ripping apart process, is there a well known common problem with FL1 3 door electric windows (front, not tailgate)? I saw one post here talking about a broken/fused switch and the switch would be my first port of call but any pointers or advice (not related to buying a different car) would be appreciated.

tiny flat blade screw driver will pull the switch out of console , swap it with the other switch to see if it works or not.

thats 1st thing to do :)

I had the same problem...turned out to be the relay a yellow one in the box under the steering wheel, cost £4 off E Bay... i also got a spare too...just incase

Thanks guys. I'll look into the switch and the relay. It has the 'feel' of something like that rather than anything major, but that could just be wishful thinking...
