Hi!

I'm trying to remove the driver's seat on my D2 but the torx bolt nearest to the B pillar just turns - not easily mind but it does not undo :-(

Is this a 'known' problem with an easy solution?

If not, can someone guide me to a sensible solution?
(I'm just a DIYer - going at it with a gas torch is not an option :))

IIRC you will find that there is a nut on the underside of the body. All the other 3 are captive nuts except that one - odd eh?

LOL!

I was going to lie down and have a look but it was raining and I didn't want to get wet!

I've been telling myself it was a hidden captive nut that would require the carpet taking up (and that taking the carpet up would require the seat taken out)

Its dark and cold and wet - never a good time to be working on the car outside :)

Cheers - I'll take a look when its drier!

Yeah, I took my seat out in the summer and could get under easily but I did spend a while just turning it from the top.

I could not work out how to turn the Torx bolt head and hold the nut still.

The nut was pretty badly corroded so in the end I just decided to use a pair of mole grips.
The nut and grips turned until the grips lodged against the side step and then it was easy :)

I think I might be tempted to buy a new nut when I put it back though!
