sensible answer hey thank you nigel -s. under the seat theres a piece of strong material that hooks either side of the seat connecting it is a piece of rubber thats finally given way hence sagging seat.

In the context of your question and suggestion of fuses, other options were mentioned in an attempt to give you a full answer.
