Hello
the driving seat on its left side has a 2 inch movement I can move it with my hand the right side is still soild. I have obviously inflicted this damage but is it repairable? I guess something has snapped internally and was wondering if its a replacement part I might need, a weld or is it a scrapper thanks

Come-on, so tell us what the damage you have inflicted is and we then can tell you if it's repairable etc etc. Don't keep it a secret. :)

right ok hope this is better......the seat as in the back rest is only solid on the right side as you sit in it, the left side moves about or pushes backwards it has a lot of play in it. It seems as though something has come away internally on the frame below the recliner handle I am not sure wether something has snapped to lose its rigidity

Then if the squab the part u sit on is ok and locked then I suspect the back rest hinge plate on the left side has snapped in half which is not unknown, if so the plate can be welded back together, unfortunatly the seat will have to be removed and material pulled back from the hinge area to show what is what.

But then as it's doubtful that the problem what ever it is can be see with the seat insitu it will have to be removed anyway. I've never removed a seat it on a disco but it's not a difficult job on the cars I have worked on.

Right thanks for that I was hoping it was repairable, I will make use of my deck chair as a temporary seat whilst I get it repaired...cheers
