The other day my 96 300tdi drivers seat took a slump and i was left on the subfame. Now removed the seat and it has split the rubber on 1 side so is no good.

Looked and new 1 is 49 quid and 2nd hand are around 25 quid.

How easy are they to fit or am i better off getting a new seat and fitting that

thats it repaired took all of 20 minutes with percing the rubber and threaded through rope.

I have used paracord on one of mine but found it a bit hard so on my second attempt I used bicycle inner tube instead of the diaphragm. Far more comfy, hardwearing and free. simply cut the diaphram away and looped the inner tube around the 2 rods on the sides. But then again im a tight git
.

I pit a pillow under there. Bit firmer than what it was and probably more like the way it was new.

As a temporary repair I used cable ties at about 2" intervals.
Then ordered a new one, better design, from Craddocks for £34.20 inc vat and delivery.
Definitely worth it. Made a huge difference
