well as the title says really,
the strap (i think it is) under the seat has snapped an it feels like i got a boot up my arsehole when i go over a bump,
can the seat be taken out an fixed or is it fooked?
or can i just fit a new seat bottom?
an if so has anyone got one?
thanks,
Nick.

it's a 97 300tdi btw

Dunno, i wondered the same...

Local scrappy didn't want to let me have any separate parts of a seat, only the entire unit!

well the answer is yes they can be repaired:D
i went to looms's scrap yard at derby an got a seat bottom pad from a range rover, with all the steel clips, an a couple of springs from a escort seat, it was a bit of a bugger to do but it's like sitting in an arm chair now, an a hour later i can now sit high again an not feel like i got a boot up my arse

the old seat bottom pad with steel bars removed (i used them to tension the new pad up)

Hi there i had same problem. I used about four pieces of strapping and riveted them into the tubing underneath seems to have done the trick been on gfor a while now.
