Hello everybody

My Defender's got a fair bit of rust in the driver's footwell. Picture attached.

Does anybody have any advice as to the best course of action to remedy it?

Thanks

Welcome:)

Eh yes that needs sorting, look at some of the guys build threads and you will find many solutions.
I gratefully don’t have that problem:) (yet:eek:)

Think a lot of the guys like YRM for repair panels https://yrmit.co.uk/yrm-parts/ I think, but I have never used.

Are you going to diy?

You could always get some rubber mats;)

Any pics of the shiney side:) that’s really what this section is for.

Take the floor plate out and cut back the rusty bit to a good bit and weld in a plate. If it is up the sides as well, you can get the whole footwell from Paddocks.

I would replace the entire footwell. They are not very expensive and will save a lot of time mucking about with your choice of cutter. Patching up will only be temporary.
