Hi chaps,

Closed my drivers door earlier then next time I opened it the plastic tweeter bit of trim fell off and just hung from the cables, I cant get it back on without it falling off but dont see any clips or anything to click it back into place???

Anyone have an idea of how these are meant to go back on?
Maybe mines was broken and was just botched on by garage or previous owner as only had the hippo 4 weeks.

Cheers.

the plastic clips that hold them on can break easy check on the door to see if they are still there or at least half of them

bottom 'legs' go in behind the door trim

i think the top bit is a 'push-to-fit' into the locating hole

( i've had them off .. but it's been a while .. ;- ..
( fairly sure it were a 'push-to-snap-back-on'

Thanks for that, the only thing is I have the facelifted model which looks like it has different trim?

same here .. facelift thing .. 'n i don't recall any 'legs' on that tweeter holder ..
think it just snapped back on .. via a locating hole .. .. .. .. though i could be wrong :)
( i took the door trim apart to get at a door speaker )
although .. the later / relevant haynes manual shows it with 'legs' ..

anyhowzzz .. if mine were broken .. unable to snap back in ..
( but the face were in one piece ) ..
i'd be tempted to try 'blu-tack' to stick it back on ..
( i.e. if i didn't go about replacing it all ) ..
that way .. it could be taken apart again if needed ..

i used blue-tack to mount a 'scangaugeII' to the dash .. just above the steering wheel ..
worked fine .. ( so no glue-pad to remove ) .. the gauge hasn't budged a mm.
.. had first cleaned the surface with some spray isopropyl-alcohol ..

a neighbour here moved overseas .. has left house empty ..
their door mail flap had a habit of banging in the wind .. like .. all night sometimes ..
( vic. terrace houses ) .. keeping me awake .. .. went over .. one strip of blu-tack ..
.. mail-box now firmly shut regardless of wind strength :))

Ok I know this is a really old thread. Why is it so hard to find a replacement trim for the drivers side (tweeter cover). Loads of near side ones on eBay but no one has the drivers side!

Cos they forget how easy they break.
So they pull the driver's side stuff off first, as that gets more use or more damage and sells quicker.
Then by the time they get to the passenger side, they're being more careful.
Sounds like bullsh¡t, but I've seen it happen loads.

Very common fault. Blue tac or 3 spots of silicone ( bit of tape till it sets ), bin there before. Dont use super glue cos the cards need to come off to replace the window mec cables next week. ;)
