right guy's, been here a while but not posted in years .
just got a Freelander mk1 and it has a locking issue !
central locking works off the fob and switch in cab but the drivers door won't lock ?
you can hear the motor click / move as if it is trying to lock but then kind of bounces back open .
the door button only partially presses down and I don't have the right key for the door lock as it appears to have been replaced in the past !!
has anyone had these symptoms in the past and could advise please as leaving the door open is not really ideal !!
cheers guy's

Sounds like the door lock is faulty, or the control rods are bent.
You'll need to strip it to see what's up with it. Be prepared to replace the lock assembly though.

There a rod that leads from the key lock to the main door locking mechanism can snap. have you got two different keys for the car? the cheaper option was buying the earlier model keylock with prong rod
