If you cannot send it back, you can probably use parts from the replacement latch to fix yours
I will not know until at least Monday if I can return, it said returns are allowed. Three questions: what does micro switches look like?
What is the white wire's purpose and what is its equivalent on the replacement latch-which doesn't have a White wire?
Lastly, my latch had a broken white plastic piece inside. Do you think that's why it would not open with the fob or the key?
Thanks,

Good evening, Data I unable to exchange the latch I received and have spent last two weeks trying unsuccessfully to find a replacement. So Saturday morning I'm going to swap parts like pmwood said. Based on the pics I've posted weeks ago, can you offer any advice?
Thanks
Jesse

Just undo the small crosshead screws on the plate holding the levers in place. Then swap the external bits over. Internals will probably be the same if they both have three microswitches, so go through the Latch Test posted earlier in this thread.

Re-assembly can be a bit fiddly the first time, but it's fairly easy once you know where all the bits go.
Well pwood, searching for weeks with no luck finding a replacement latch, I'm going to try to swap parts Saturday. If you have any advice or things to avoid I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
Jesse

Take lots of photos starting with the donor latch. There's nothing exciting that I recall. There might be pictures from one of my posts although a lot of images went missing when they moved the site.

On mine everything just clipped in and out. The white grease inside tends to go hard so clean it out if it has.

Will do! When I opened my latch 3 weeks ago I found a flat-white plastic lever (for lact of a better term) broken. Since, my latch was responding to the key and the fob, Data thinks my switches are okay. My thought is the broken white piece was located inside the actuator on the bottom would not allow the actuator to unlock the latch from its super lock position to release the latch. I did physically get the latch to release once on the bench but could not get it duplicate when connected to plug. I will update you all after I give it a try this Saturday or Sunday.
Thanks,
Jesse
