Drove past my local LR dealership today and noticed a 2010 Defender Utility with XS trim in a dark grey metallic.

Called in to have a closer look and ended up having a test drive! What a lovely thing to drive, the seat went back further than my 110 with it's bulkhead, more elbow room, it didn't mist up, 6th gear was heaven, the engine felt smooth and pretty quiet considering.

The only thing that let it down was the back row of seats don't fold flat into the floor which is a real shame.

Still, I'm seriously tempted to sell mine and trade my company car in against it :) The dealer said a brand new one was £32k and this one was £24k which seemed a tad high considering it was 4 years old. Does that sound about right?

1 owner from new, fully serviced, 45,000 miles...
Cheers

No thanks, it's a Defender I want as I need to fit mountain bikes in the back plus camping gear etc.

Sounds a bit pricey to me, I paid 25.5k for a 2012 90 xs SW 12 months ago, with less than 4.5k on the clock. It was only 11 months old, now just coming up to 2 yrs old with 18k clocked.

I thought as much, I've been Googling (and dribbling) tonight and found a couple of 12 plates at £26k and similar 10 plates around the £21k/£22k

Is the 2.2 engine considered better than the 2.4?

Its the same engine,

But no replacement for displacement,

That said,

for £20k you could get some really nice TD5 110's will all the toys

I have heard the 2.2 is better (as a model not an engine). Judging by the posts on here the 2.4 had a fair number of electronic woes.
