I've just been checking the rear propshaft on my 1990 Defender 110 and I've noticed the UJ between the rear propshaft and the rear diff needs replacing. I've ordered a new part for fitting and will give it all to my local garage for fitting. Hopefully he can fit the new UJ in the day and I can collect the vehicle in the afternoon, but if he can't is it possible to still drive my Defender with the rear propshaft removed? There's something in the back of mind that if one of the propshafts is removed then you don't get any drive.

Many thanks for your quick reply.....and station house's as well.....a case of great minds think alike I'd say. The garage should get it done pretty quickly but they often have commercial vehicles in unannounced so have to divert their attention to those. but they do a good job and are reasonably priced round where I live plus they are only 2 doors down from where I work. They just replaced the entire front suspension and front brake pipes on my old girl for under £450
