anybody got an idea what this is
Just come back from scotland with everything crossed, basically there is a h--l of a judder when acelerating but once at a steady speed it falls off , its not from the stearing but seems to come from the drive/transmission
To bring the judder on all i need to do is accelerate but at low speed its non existant

Check your uj's and A frame joint.

sorry I was still uncrossing everything from the drive home
Well remembered Madhatman yes it is a 90 defender with a 300tdi engine
I will get under it this morning although I looked at the UJ's in services on way down but will give it a good going over

cheers for that it was as you suggested the UJ on the rear of the front prop shaft, obviously under druve it was goint out of balance and vibrating like a B-----d
