Hi Chaps
I need to pick some brains, I have an oil leak which appears to be coming from the DRIVE PLATE ACCESS COVER, according to RAVE it should have 9 bolts securing it into position, mine had 5 bolts missing, to which I have replace 3, other two I'm trying to source, my main question is does this plate have a gasket behind it? and if I should remove this plate to replace the said gasket am I likely to be greeted by a lot of oil?
I know you guys out there have this knowledge, please share and I will be so grateful
The vehicle that has this issue is a 1998 vogue 50 number 5

If it is a V8 it is dry behind it that is if you are talking about the half moon blanking panel

Hi yes sorry it is the v8 and half moon shape, glad to hear its dry, only now need to know about the gasket or if I can use some form of silicone gasket but thanks for the quick reply

Nothing at all no gasket needed it is a dust cover for the torque convertor

Would it still weep with oil if its just a dust cover?

Should be dry, If there is oil then there is a leak, either rear main, gearbox input/ sump seal or core plug.

You need to get underneath take the plate of and see what is going on
