Is there a list anywhere (I've looked but can't see one) of garages that offer a drive in, leave the car a week drive out galv chassis swap?

Preferably in the north west

The landrover garage in Tow Law does it. I know it's not north west, but not a huge distance as its in County Durham. The new MD at our place had it done on his 110CSW. He couldn't recommend them enough!

That's them. The workshop and forecourt never look like that. I have driven past every working day for the last 3 years. Most of the time, they have 2-3 parked on the grass as they can't fit any more than 2 rows on the park! They are usually busy, and don't often answer the phone straight away. They do eventually return calls, but are genuine and honest (my brother has used them a few times).

Just did mine! I can recommend this garage, mind there is a waiting list, he advertises in Classic Land Rover very other month and gives prices.

Had mine done in April at Richards place in Mexborough, not exactly in the North East but they do a drop off and pick up service.

Same here, I used Paul Marsden to do my chassis and bulkhead swap, he's located in the workshop next door to Richards Chassis in Mexborough Rotherham, they should give you his contact number. I purchased my galv chassis from Richards, my galv bulkhead from Ashtree (up north) and booked Paul to do the work. I might have heard that he's now become part of Richards Chassis?

Back in April I asked about why you buy the chassis from Richards and have the work done by Paul, they said it was better to have the business that way, don't know if it has changed since, but if you google Richards chassis and give them a call they will tell you what can be done, when and how much.

I guess just because they can make chassis doesn't mean they are interested in doing the swap overs.

May have changed a bit but around £3000 supply and fitted, considering the work I was OK with that, I would have liked to do it myself but lack of room and time put paid to that, as I want to keep my Defender I knew it would happen one day so I thought it better to jump in and do it before prices get much higher, and it becomes too expensive, also thought better to put money into this than welding.
Lucky I did my chassis was worse than I thought and would soon have started to cost me.

I paid approx. £3500, including all new brake lines + bushes, rear crank seal and new clutch (galvanised chassis).
