Still fixing it!
Hi all, my power steering box has started leaking fluid from the bottom rear ( nearest side to bulk head) im having to top it up every four or five days, I use it every day for work. I've just had a right shock when I found out the price for a new one. Has anyone on here stripped one down and repaired or is it not worth it. Any help would be greatfully welcomed.

Right guys, I've noticed the power steering reservoir doesn't empty completely- it holds fluid to about half an inch below the dip stick! This is conf using me because surely if. It's leaking it would run dry no?

Dont let it run out or you will knacker the pump as well as the box. next time you top it up try an egg cup full of brake fluid in with the atf. The theory is the brake fluid makes the seals swell and form a seal again, It's not considered a permanent fix but it's stopped mine leaking for over 12 months now. It can't do any harm and it might give you chance to save up for a new box
