Ok, im currently doing a bit of welding on the footwells and cross member of my Landy, but then it is time for the MOT.
Since the government/dvla have really messed up the mot system now i can't afford for it to be failing to much (since a retest now costs the same and isnt free). So what tips can you guys recomend for me before i take it?

Its a 1971 S3 88", 2.25 petrol. It has been standing for 3 years. Im only after common area's of failure and advice. Also anyone recomend some good reliable places for the mot in the North Wales area?

Don't let them con you into an emmissions test. Tis only compulsory on later motors (1975 on me thinks). Visual will surfice.

Set yer brakes up properly by the book check yer wheel bearings and steering aint got slack / free play in it. Check yer exhaust aint got holes in it and is secured properly. check yer swivels for leaks and pitting if you have a slight leaking swivel clean it with petrol and wipe it dry just before you go, give it a run for 2-3 miles at decent revs i.e. motorway makes it cleaner on visual emissions...hope for the best...best of luck feller...

Ok, cheers for the response guys, going to use this month to get the work finished then take sometime in September. Ill let you know how i get on.
