checked the plugg 677 and there is power there.I am now trying to get off the round plug on the gearbox 243 sitting good so taking down the exhaust to get more room

I can't have more ideas as long as you keep saying "there is power to ...":confused: which is irrelevant, read again post #20 in this thread, i said about continuity check and visually follow the whole harness to make sure it's not chaffed, relevant is to see if there is full continuity between pins and no short between the wires or against earth which means to use ohmeter's one probe in C0243 and the other in C0677 corresponding pin then in the others and earth

one example: measure between C0243-H and C0677-2(orange/green wire) you must get 100% closed circuit, then between C0243-H and all the other pins of C0677 and against earth you must get resistance ZERO... any other result is prove of a problem

you must do this test on all the pins of C0243 then we'll speak ... would be good to leave the probes of the ohmeter connected and jiggle the wiring while you watch the reading

just want to update i tried the test and found 3 of the wires had no continuity removed the loom and it was melted right through these wires :) thanks very much for your help sierrafery :) I have now a bent manifold,broken exhaust bolts,pas leak , and oil leak to fix :( aint these cars a joy lol
