Hi Landyfans,
I'm the happy owner of a 03 Kalahari 5door, had the car 5 years, no major probs and the car is in regular use. The sunroof has stopped working properly, ie sudden ratchet noise and only able to work on one side. I have managed to close the roof properly by removing the glass and closing the working side (off-side) so I could refit the glass so I don't get wet. The situation now is that if I remove the glass, the motor works and raises and lowers the off-side mechanism, but the drivers' side mechanism just sits motionless. Does anyone have a clue as to the actual problem here as I can't get the "riser" to lift up so I can get at the last hex screw which holds the "riser/slider mechanism" in place, because the mechanism is holding the wind deflector in the down position on the faulty side. I would appreciate any help from you experts out there, otherwise I guess it's just "live with it". But I don't like to let these things defeat me, also, £310 + vat is a bit steep for a professional answer.

Good luck with the sunroof.
