Hello everyone. I have just downsized to a Freelander and when I turn in first with low revs the car struggles. It feels like it's gunna stall. Otherwise absolutely perfect.

I'm new to Freelanders too (and this forum!), having just purchased one last month. I had exactly the same issue. Car feels like it's holding back a bit, and when turning on full lock it feels like the brakes are on.

I removed the propshaft and VCU today, and it's cured the problem. The car drives so much better.

I'm buying a reconditioned one from a place in Norfolk tomorrow, in exchange for mine. A reconditioned VCU and aftermarket bearings works out at £340. Delivery is £35, but I'm collecting mine as it's only an hour down the road.

Be careful where you buy vcu's from. Make sure it's a good seller and not a crap one.
 
I'm getting it from Freelander Specialists, in Norfolk. I've seen some good feedback from these people, so guessing they are ok?

Picked up the VCU today, and also an EGR blanking plate. They were lovely people, and incredibly helpful. The mechanic took my car for a spin to diagnose a rattle, which he cured in seconds. :)
