Hi,

A quick question, I had problem with exhaust values and I think I found the reason :) (see photo)
A down pipe is quite expensive over here and not easy to remove I guess. How would you do, , would you weld or replace with a new generic flexible pipe plus clamps.

Hi, to replace the flexible part, you will need some cutting. So you need to remove the exhaust…

This was not the reply I was hoping for but after having a closer look I agree that it will be difficult to do in-situ but also that it is at least room to remove the down pipe. Let's see how cooperative the bolts are though..

Bolts will certainly break, you will need new bolts.

It’s better to remove the full exhaust pipes as a whole. Parts are bolted and welded.
 
Thank you all for advices.

I managed to remove and weld in a new flex pipe, made a jig to get correct length.
There's always a but though, there is now a minor leak between down pipe and manifold. I tightened to 60Nm used a new gasket and some permatex. Will order a new gasket, is it recommended to stay away from liquid gasket?

Hi,

An update, I had to remove the cat and weld inside the flange, it is hard to spot so if you have a similar problem then inspect the area around the flange twice...
