If they flash to fast will fail MOT mate

With ONE bulb flashing it should flash in double quick time.

With TWO bulbs flashing is should flash once a second

With THREE bulbs flashing it shoukld flash normally once a secaond AND flash the wee trailer light in the dash.

Have you by any chance fitted 5 watt bulbs or 24 volt bulbs?

Flasher bulbs should be 12 volts 21 watts, and nothing else.

I know this is an old thread but CharlesY you got that a bit wrong
on a disco 1 if one indicator bulb fails (2 working) indicators flash double time, same as if 2 bulbs fail.

Surly all he had to do to cure this problem was to fit a Disco 2 indicator relay?? cos thats desighned to only run 2 indicator bulbs.

when fitting led's you should wire a 25watt 25 ohm resistor in parallel in both indicator circuits ,or better still replace flasher relay for electronic type easer and kinder to the next owner if he ever decides to remove led's and fit bulbs

The indicator relay was designed for the disco's with 6 indicator bulbs and mine only has the 4 x 21w plus the 2 x 5w, hence the relay was registering blown or missing bulbs and flashing too quickly. I fitted 2 more lamps temporarily and it sorted it. I did try a variety of resistors but haven't found the right resistance and wattage. I found one that worked but got hot very quickly. I want to replace the rear clusters with ones that have the indicators in anyway so I'll visit Ebay again..lol
(I did manage to get the old relay to work again but it's unreliable)

the other option would be to fit a solid state relay instead.
