defenders and discos use the same size ujs in the props ,there are 2 depending on age (rtc3458 75mm ish and rtc3346 80 mm ish )double cardon is a different thing it has 2 joints at t/box end ,wide angle prop wont transmit torque at greater angle than std prop it just stops yokes rubbing together when prop is angled,to get smooth torque delivery at angle you need double cardon or cv,dc used to be fitted to armoured defenders and use the same t/box flange as disco 2,300 tdi onwards front props for defender/disco are the same length so swapping is easy ,200tdi and earlier have longer front props so spacer or lengthening of prop is required

What I fail to understand us why having a double Cardin at one end only will help, cos the angle if displacement is the same at both ends, surely, or with the diff angled up, the main problem is at the transfer box? hence why the UJs at the T box end if the prop tend to go first.

I run a wide angle prop on the rear, and a td5 prop on the front .. I have had no problems at all ... still not cheap for the pair , bought a new wide angle £160 , and the td5 was secondhand, but looked nearly new for £120 . went laning yesterday in the peaks did pindale etc , and performed very well. The only thing with the td5 prop is, you dont get as much travel on the splines , with a big lift , you may need to fit a spacer.:)
