So.

I've bitten the bullet and bought a nice double cab TDCi pickup, fitted with a rear canvas tilt. Looks good, but it leaks a little and offers no security and is a bit unpractical.

So, I want a hard top. Forget Ifor Williams - it's not a sheep taxi. Trouble is, everything else is just ridiculous money - for example, truckman do a GRP canopy but its £1400 or so.....really??? Others are more £2200, £3000 - that's just silly.

What's my options? I would like side doors too. If I had a Itchypussy or Toyota I could pick something up for a few hundred. Surely there must be something sensible on the market?

Suggestions??

Anyone??

Hi Jockscotland.......The Ifor Williams may be directed at the farming community.....BUT they are solid & good quality hard tops. If you need side doors, cut out the sides and fit a set of hinges, door rubbers and "T" handle / lock assembly. You can paint them the same colour as your vehicle and they look good. I know where there is a good one for sale. If you would like to PM me I will give you the information..........

Quite....

It seems crazy that id be cheaper to buy an old 88" roof and sides, cut it up, paint it and fit it?

Looks like this is the way forward - who's done it and how much of a job is it???

Are you selling the tilt? Im after one in place of my ifor williams hard top.

I have a Trojan back on my double cab. Leaked since the day I bought it and I'm still struggling to find where it's getting in! Other than that it's as solid as solid gets, although from a security point of view I don't think it's massively good. I'm trying to work out a way of wiring it into the main alarm to make it more secure - probably a job for summer!
