My O/S/R door won't open from the outside. The door lock will pop up but the outside handle doesn't do anything. Other doors are fine.

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like one of the following:

It could be that the bit of the latch mechanism that's connected to the exterior handle via the link rod has seized.

Or....

The link rod itself has popped out of the latch.

Either way you'll need to pop the inner door panel off to have a look. Two big screws on the grab handle, one on the interior latch then the panel will pop out with careful use of a suitable lever between it and the door. If you need to take the latch out it's held in by three Torx screws on the edge of the door. You may find the screws are seized tho. I had to drill mine out and put very short hex bolts in when it went back together.

Not too tricky a job. The fronts are far worse It has to be said that all FL door latches are a bit delicate.

If the latch is knackered the part number is ALR9786. I believe this has been superceded by FQM500120 tho. Have a search around for the best price.

both me and Darmain had this last year after the cold snap. If it opens from inside ur in luck. If not you can remove the internal panel with it closed. I couldn't open internally or external. Eventually banging lock with hammer and working inside mechanism it came open. Then removed lock, took apart and lubricate like crazy till its working easily. Mine been fine 1 yr on.

Check out some threads by Darmain as I know he's had further issues with worn locks which involved replacement parts.
