At the weekend I had to replace the electric window regulator on the back right door of my Freeland TD4 '04. Which was easier that I thought. :)

However, although I put the plastic sheet back in place and used some gaffer tape where to repair any tares etc I am still getting water coming from behind the door trim.

I guess it would be better to replace the whole plastic sheet to be sure of no leaks.

Can you buy new plastic door sheets and if so does anyone know how much?

Cheers,

Chris

not sure 'bout the genuine article, but something like a rubble sack, or Wickes do a heavy duty damp proof membrane which could be easily cut to shape.

The window seal should keep most of it out, any that gets in should run down the door skin side and out of drain holes in the bottom well away from your door trim.

In practise possibly in reality it drips everywhere and goes where it wants. Had the same problem on my Golf. Used DPC membrane and silicone sealant to replace mine.

Thanks for the replies. I may see if some gaffer tape does the job. If not then another £26 it is then :(

Still a heck of a lot cheaper than getting the dealer to replace the electric window regulator :)

Cheers,

Chris
