hi guys wondered if anyone could help, got a problem with my passenger door on my p38, it just stopped working, it has locked itself and i cannot open it from inside or outside, not working on the remote or the key, not just the door but the window and wing mirror, looks like there is no power at all getting to the door. very confusing as i dont know a great deal about electrics and i dont know what controls all three things except the becm, but i heard that the relay in the becm controls both front doors, i understand there is a control module inside the door but as i cant open the door at all i dont want to break the lock if i dont need to. also i wondered if i did need to get into the door would it be best to break the door card off or the door latch? i say door card because maybe cheaper option, any help i would be very grateful. thanks in advance

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE MANUAL FROM THIS SITE , IT LEADS YOU HOW TO DO THIS JOB WITHOUT CAUSING ANY DAMAGE ...

thanks chabrolly, well the good news is that it seems to of fixed itself, the door opened and hey presto everything started working again, i had a good feel for the wires and it seems that the wires between the door and the body were all twisted so i am going to see if i can get the piece of the harness that plugs in just before the door and feeds the door control module. any way great forum and hope i can repay the favour someday. thanks

Did You Ever Change The Door ?? Anyway Check Just For Safty All The Others Doors Wires .

i have checked the other doors and all seem ok, the wires seemed a bit brittle so i am now checking the earths e.t.c as far as i know the door is from new it is same colour as rest of car i.e not faded or different colour, i have managed to source a harness so i will look into replacing any wires that look like they could do with replacing before it can damage the becm. thanks again

WHICH MODEL DO YOU HAVE ?? REALLY THAT'S STRANGE !! WHAT MAKES THE WIRES BRITTLE ?? DO YOU LIVE NEAR A BEACH ... BUT .. NO THAT DOESN'T JUSTIFY THAT TO HAPPEN ... ANYWAY GOOD IDEA TO CHECK THEM ALL TO AVOID ANY DAMAGE TO THE BeCM ..
