Passanger door was all good and fine, then out of the blue, it is bouncing off the x-trouser striker. I've spent the last two hours 'adjusting' trying to get it back how it was, but having no luck!

If I manage to get it to catch, it doesn't pull the door in properly. A little more adjustment and I'm back to square 1 with it bouncing!! So frustrating!

So is there a special wee trick to get these aligned before I really break something?!

get wd40 with its little pipe and spray it upwards into latch in door. I found mine did exactly same and concluded its just the catch a bit sticky so lazy dropping down to lock onto trouser ripper. sprayed upwards into in catch and hey presto all fixed

Hinges are all new. Doors were rebuilt. Spent ages getting everything lined up and shutting nicely, so I don’t know what’s changed.

I tested the latch with my high tech screwdriver and all works nice and smoothly. I just don’t think it’s catching the latch for some reason.

Yeh ripped off the door seals last night so i’d Have a better chance of aligning. But still no luck!

I think it’s just the catch not aligning with the mechanism. Maybe I knocked it when I was putting in new seats. But I can’t get it to line up again!

Are the hinge bolts all tight in the bulkhead? Do go nuts on them, as you may bust the captive nuts.

Also have you put the shims on both sides of the hinges?

I also removed the black rubber wedge on the striker as striker was crap fit.this wedge was stopping the second catch/latch allowing locking of the door

Broken bolt on the striker? you can check by popping yer fingers in behind it.

So, looking again tonight with a fresh head on, I could see the b-post flexing and the hinge twisting as the door made contact.

Braces with timber behind the b-post off the rear bulkhead, works a treat!

Surely that shows a bigger problem is somewhere else!?

What model is it? I wouldn’t expect a B post to flex much, at all. Mine certainly don’t and they have a door hanging from them.
