Ahhh , the joy that is the discovery mk2 submarine..........
yes another leaking sunroof story. I have seen all the links to this and there are some fantastic step by step guide with photos on headlining removal and masticing cups and drain tubes. however (drum roll for stupid question........)

Are the door rubbers glued on and is there an easy / proper way to remove them to get access to the lining clips. Is it worth replacing them once they have been moved???

thanks
Andy

It's a while since I did mine so I can't honestly remember if there was any glue on the door seals, I don't think there was but I could be mistaken. Either way, my door seals etc went back on without any trouble and haven't moved since. Didn't use anything special to pull it all apart.

That was on a '98 300 Tdi....

ok, just been out there an had a look at my Disco. There is no glue on the door seals, there is a channel down the rubber seal that fits over the edge of the body panel joins. This channel has metal "u" shaped linning, they can be taken off quite easily as long as your careful. Pull directly down on the seal along the top of the door jam and roof. Be careful not to stretch the rubber as once it's stretched it cant be undone. You will also have to remove all the pillar trims and top seat belt mountings in order to get the headlining to drop down. The headlining in mine is like a cardboard/fibre type material, there may be sealant holding it up in place, use a sharp stanley knife to cut it away and try and not crease the lining. Good Luck ........

had a leak on my sunroof. Not a bad job in the end, found the drain pipe fitting broken off , wich was on drivers side. not sure if theres one on passenger side. Simple job of suitable insert (biro pen) and a bit of silicone, never leaked since. dropping the lining was simple bit of common dog. get off you,re bum it,s easy.
we,ve had the sun heavy rain due soon, lots of it:):):)
