I'm thinking of fitting defender seals to my series , do the new seals go all the way around including the floor also how much of the lip do you need to cut off existing frames and what method have people used to cut it off ? Thanks , some people have said that the lip can stay on ?

Defender seals are three sided so do not include the floor. I have them fitted to mine, some parts the lip was already cut off but other parts I have not cut it and it still fits with no problems. I you decide to cut the lip off I would have thought a thin blade o an a angle grinder will be the best bet.

I put defender seals on mine, left the lip on and some slid on ok other places a bit of persuassion was needed.
The thing is if they stick out a bit it only helps keep the rain out.

I have a 69 Station Wagon and fitted defender seals after cutting the lip if all door apertures with and angle grinder.
Remember to cover glass so you don't get shards melting into the glass.
The seals fit well with just the bend half way down a challenge. Seem to be doing the job keeping the elements out.
They were a bit 'fat' but are bedding in.
Used Vaseline on the seals while they were fat to help the door close without damaging the seal.
Cheers

Yep I've got Defender seals on mine with new doors and tops. They are fat and I've not managed to adjust the doors to shut properly yet but hoping after a couple of Months they will fit better. The lip was already missing on mine however I did grind the lip of the rear door. I just used a 3" cutting disc.

Norrie.
