can anyone tell me what the small connector on the drivers door lock is for i can get a replacement for mine but the new one has this extra electrical plug with one black wire as well as the normal 6 plug connector cheers

Early door locks had 2 connectors, one with a single black wire for the earth. Later cars just had the one.
 
Yer mines only got the one connection so will try find out where this single black wire should go because it doesn't look like it goes into the six pin connection anywhere thanks for help
 
Sorry, seen I've been tagged in this... but been away for work and just got back today.

The single black wire is the ground for the microswitches in the door latch. Early latches had the 6 pin connector, and then to the other side of the latch is a recess with one single pin in it - which is where the single black wire connects to.

The second version of the latch had all the wiring coming out of the latch itself, and then terminated at 2 connectors - 6 pin, and then a 2 pin connector with just the black wire in it. The third/final version of the latch has just a single 8 way connector, with all the wires in it.
