Changed over the door lock actuator on the front passenger door. Wanted to have a look at the old/failed actuator - looked in good nick mechanically, took it apart, but just couldn't separate the white plastic cover over the DC motors - broke a few tabs and then thought bugger it - just broke the rest off! Anyway, here are the specs on the two small DC motors:

Johnson 20005 3C2514 (has larger dia screw attached to spindle)

Mabuchi Motor 0301/12V BN632614 (has smaller dia screw attached to spindle)

Motors appear almost identical (certainly are the same size) and were not soldered in place as I thought - they made electrical contact whilst being held in a plastic cradle (maybe one or both motors came loose over time with door being "banged shut"?). Wonder why the door lock actuator manufacturer (no idea who that might be) used DC motors from two different manufacturers?

I have to do one more door (rear passenger) and would prefer to see if I could install replacement motors
rather than buy a new door lock actuator. Recall reading elsewhere that someone replaced them? Does anyone have a procedure on how to strip down the door lock actuator without breaking anything?
