Here is a little tip if the exterior handle doesnt work on your disco and you dont think its the spring (I.E you dont have to pull the catch up to open the door)

Take the door card off and then look at the back of the exterior door lever. You should see 2 nuts and a plate holding it on. Undo these and remove the lever. (you may have to remove the central locking solenoid first.)

Now if you look at the back of the lever you will see a long white plastic plunger and a metal lever with a spring. What happens is as you pull the handle the plunger pushes against the lever but its bending so not pushing the lever enough to flip the catch :(

There are probably loads of different ways to fix this but i opted for the 'padding the lever out' method and gaffer taped 2 5p's to the lever :D (taking the lever off the handle makes this a bit easier to do.)

Put it all back to gether and the door works fine now :D

Someone may have posted this before but all i could find was about replacing the spring in the latch

There is usually some adjustment in the rods, unhooking them and screwing them in to take up the slack.

I need to do mine as I need to pull the drivers door handle all the way to open and its becoming tiresome so will let you know.

I have done it on another landy but until I do it again I cant remember.

The same on the interior handle if it gets difficult to open, although you need small hands and a lot of patience...
