Just getting my new door tops sprayed up. When I put the glass back in do I have to use the horrible black stuff Landrover used first time round or will exterior grade silicone sealant do?

yeah it should do well err it does coz i used it on mine

bit of a tip once youve pushed the glass in wait till it goes off fully (24hours) then cut the exess off with a decent stanley knife blade

does a far neater job than smearing it with yer fingers :D:D:D

I used some greenhouse double-sided tape on mine. Found it at B&Q I think or mabe R@nge. Worked well so far and less mess, also no waiting round for it to go off...

I used a product called upol TigerSeal on mine. Absolutely brilliant stuff. It will literally stick panels together.
It sets like a rubber but is also an adhesive. Much better wearing than silicone which is a bit soft and doesn't stick to dirty metal.
You can cut the Tigerseal and clean it up pretty easy with a knife.

Dum Dum - the original and some would say still the best... if you want authentic and not silicone based compounds, then this is the way to go (getting harder to get hold of though - think I got my last tin from Paddocks?)
