Hello

military defender 1990 plate

Any ideas if I can lower the window frame height very slightly. My roof rack foot (gutter type) is catching on the top of a window.

Cheers

I think its just a case of loosening the hinge bolts and seeing what you can get. Very fiddly.

Move the roof rack back if you can, it can be a bit of a ball ache getting the doors to line up.

Can you grind some meat off the door rack rackets.?

It is worth moving the doors down a tad and not a difficult Jon, LR never lined them up that well!

What hinges do you move, the ones on the frame/bulkhead or the ones on the door?

Your choice will be limited by the early onset of local fixing corrosion, ie rust.

Which ever ones you can undone, an old style impact hammer will be your friend, you only need a couple of mm, wobble space round the bolt will do it.

Do firstly check that the door lock plates can be undone as they too will need a tweak.

It’s easy to be fair

Nice one, I’ll give that a go. Only need a couple of mm so hopefully get that.

If you're determined to move the doors, move at the bulkhead side of the hinge. You'll need a PZ4 screwdriver head, works well in a 3/8 socket drive with the appropriate adapter. Loads of releasing oil the day beforehand will help.

Nice tip, thanks mate.
