Hi iv been offered a set of 4 bfg all terrains 265/75/16 but the seller has said they only have 3 or 4 mm of tread on them, but he said the rims (black modulars) were only driven on for 2 weeks so bran new, iv been offered the set for £200 but I'm wondering if the tread is too low and they won't last long ? Thanks

Be alright for the road for a little while. You want a bit more meat on them for off road really

Up to you...but there's better out there IMO...like mine :p

I don't know the value of the rims but the tyres are pretty much worthless , you need to price your offer on the value of the rims. Bear in mind you will have to have the tyres changed pretty soon. Personally I would be changing tyres at 3-4mm.

I wouldn't .. the wheels are around £30 ish new from Paddocks and the tyres almost worthless.

I found my BFG AT's lost bite/grip offroad at about 25000 miles but still with 7+ mm of tread left .. perfect for the road and would have lasted another 25000 miles I guess, but I'd be changing them at 3-4mm anyway!

Right that's solved that then cheers guys I'll buy a set when I mot it. I want a good set for all terrin near to leic if you know of any

Well I live in Leicester and when my BFG ATs need replacing I'll probably buy mail order off the internet. Camskill seem to be looking the most competitive at the moment.

My existing ones were £400 of the set nearly new (still with the moulding pips on them) so for £200 you'd expect tyres with around half their life still in them if that makes sense. Modular wheels are pocket money prices.

Where's the link for £400 bfgs ?

They've long gone I'm afraid. I've been driving around on them for the last two years. They'd hardly been used when I got them, and they're about halfway through their lives now. My point is that next time I need some I'll be shopping around on the internet.
