Why, Why, Why did I do it.

About 6 months ago I changed the cross member on my Series 1 80, took loads of measurements but deep down I knew I should have dropped the body on but it was buried deep under the rest of the body.

You guessed it, Ive put the cross member in the wrong place....:(

There is now a gap about 1 inch behind the doors, whilst I could adjust and batter things into shape I have decided to put the cross member bck to the correct position.

Does anyone have either a diagram of distances from the bulk head outrigger to end of crossmember, or could some one be a real gent and measure their own vehicle.

Are there any other good points to measure from to get this in the right place....

Cheers for any advice or help offered.

I've always used the tub to align/hold the rear cross member in place, then tact weld it, remove the tub and then fully weld.

Landy body/chassis tolerances are so variable its the only way I've found to make it fit/look right.

As the zzr1200 and hug say and If you are going to be using a tail gate make sure it closes on the tub correctley.
