Can you make some brackets off the tow bar? Or does the spare wheel on the door stop it
I was considering that, but it'll be a little awkward. Plan is, use ramp to get the old dog in, slam door shut, clamp it to the spare wheel some how. Store it in the back when out on pack walks or forest walks, then all the other times it stays in the back, so it'll only be for the odd trip. I might investigate different materials, I have one of those clarkes tube benders in my workshop, it can roll diameter, so I'm thinking making a Ø4 or Ø6 mm steel shape that hooks under the spare tyre, clamps the ramp and squeezes over the top of the tyre.
For this I'll need a springy steel or make it springy. Made plenty of springs but not that big!
I was kinda hoping someone has made a velcro on bag that fits over the tyre or something and save me a few hours of head scratching but nothing so far. Googling it is pointless, you get 1bn adverts about dog ramps and nothing useful.
Picture including the old boy who loves it when I open the back door of the land rover. Hates cars but loves this one as it means we are going somewhere great. As for the GSD, all she wants to do is watch where we are going and breath down my neck. She can't lay down as there is a folded ramp behind her, so on longer journey it would be nice to put the ramp somewhere....or leave the wife behind!
(yes, yes, the drooping headlining is on my long list of things I can be arsed to fix)
