Hi
I'am looking for suggestions, not rude ones, and not get rid of the dog.
I have a very large german shepherd who when he is in the rangie he thinks he owns it, he protects it quite vocally at times. Anyway came out of shop today to be approached by a person who apologised, it seems he went up and pressed his nose against the window to see the nice doggy, don't ask me why, nice doggy duly went mad and has ripped the rivnuts out that were holding the dog guard up. Anybody got any sensible suggestions for refixing it more securely.

Has it ripped out the inserts from the plastic holders or actually pulled the rivnuts out of the roof panel? Just fitted my dog guard & have some spare plastic holders if you need them?

Maybe whoever fitted the rivnuts originally did half a job and did not squeeze them enough to anchor them properly. Or when they drilled the roof panel they used the wrong size drill bit!
The rivnut tool is not that expensive. You can replace them yourself. They are aluminium but you can also get stainless steel rivnuts which would probably not rip out so easily.

The rivnut holes are already in the vehicles roof panel, you maybe able to fit new rivnuts if the metal around the hole isn't to bent/damaged.

Yes you are right. The holes are already there.

Been a while since I fitted my dog guard. I remember trying to find the holes with a spike.
