Evening all
As the the title says, basically my rear electric windows have stopped working and after a few searches on here I've read a lot about window ecu's being the cause of this but in all the threads ive read it's all been on 300tdi's just wondering if my L reg 200 will have one too
cheers :)

Not sure off the top of my head but the window ecu isn't actually a necessity. I've wired mine up without on including auto closure

The 200 series use a relay for the rear windows plus a second relay for the front windows.

how yu do auto closure? yu added a timer?

UNIVERSAL 2 WINDOW CLOSURE SYSTEM / ROLLUP MODULE 4 CAR ALARM OR ON OWN | eBay

A unit like this basically cuts the positive feeds going to the motors and re-directs them through the unit which then work normally using the buttons.

On the unit you have two wires which are positive and negative triggers which you can then attach to something in order to trigger the closure. You could for example attach the negative trigger wire to ignition live. Then when you turn off the ignition the windows close themselves OR like mine attach it to the total closure output on the alarm system.

Here is an example:

Not bad for £8.99 inc postage :)

OR you might need the 4 window version :D

That was just an example of instructions I found on the web. I normally use the neg trigger you can then fit a simple push button between the pos trigger and ign live to give the driver a "close all windows" button :)
