Greetings chaps. If I go up a steep hill in 3rd, at quite high revs, and I see definite black smoke coming from the exhaust (not thick, but definitely definite), would you say it's a problem? I get whitey/grey smoke when I turn the engine on, but that clears quickly to no visible smoke. My girlfriend revs the engine up really high when at stand still and gets black smoke as well (much to my distaste... the reving it up high that is). I'm just wondering if it's normal for that to happen. On another note, is it bad for the engine to be reved high in neutral, or even when rolling.. to get up the hill outside my house, I hear my girfriend racing the engine in 2nd before going up to 3rd, and it makes me cringe It's supposed to be 4,000 rpm max but I can't really tell by the sound what it's doing.
Cheers for any advice. Tom.
