That thing just cries out power and performance doesn't it

I'd be interested to see how it goes, ask him to run it for a little while and maybe have a test drive to see what you think. I expect it wont match up with a 12J let alone a TDi Boydy!

that looks like the ones me cousin works on.... fitted to broads cruisers in noooor****, all of 55hp when new! yep thats about the same as a 2.25 diesel but louder and vibrates more

Yep BMC 2.5 - Dont scrap it if shes a runner - Ebay it or ask around a marina ( Very popular in narrow boats ) marinised BMCs can sell for a grand ( a few other bolt on bits )
