Just wondering as I was unsure what mods people have made to help them out .
I was going to fit a roof light and check plate the bonnet / wings just to shoot from and poss give it a slight ride height lift any other suggestions

I used to shoot from my old 90, and i've now purchased another for that exact same reason, amongst others.
I simply used to shoot out of the windows and the only thing modified was the rifle.
I did have a lamp mounted on the roof which was moveable from inside and was very helpful.
I also had a pad that fitted over the mirror and had a cradle that sat between the mirror and door. But that was it.
I have now purchased a roof rack which i'm having strong wire attached to the floor off for lying on to shoot long distance with the 17 or 243.

What sort of shooting will you be doing??

It's mainly rabbit with the .22 at night but I also use a .17hmr and 223
Plus it's being used when I go out with shotguns to set a hide up and lug stuff about
But my most recent one is to be able to use it when out deer stalking ( not done that yet but have plans too )

Pretty much the same as me then.
I expect you have a .22 with normal length barrel.
I've had mine reduced back so that it is a couple of inch's shorter than standard length with the moderator fixed on. This enable more movement in the cab if wanting to switch windows or lay it to rest on the seat etc.
Also i have the lamp mounted on top of the rifle, set so that the beam falls centred to scope at 50yds allowing a shooting range of almost 0-100yds.
I have an additional .22 with a night scope so i can park up and shoot from any position including the roof with no lamp at all, but still have a light mounted on scope to enable picking up and still have use when walking.
So far as shotgun shooting, i used to have a cam net which was fixed inside a metal box permanently on roof with the poles. This was quick to set out for pidgeon shooting as a hide, and being on the landy, i could set up anywhere including middle of field, and still have my packed lunch etc at hand.
For hawking, i had dogs in back in a box which had a cadge on top. The roof rack was padded to sides both for them to sit on, fly off and too. Also doubled up for a gun rest when shooting.
If shooting from roof rack i used to have rubber matting, as used in stables, laid over the wire. Both for comfort and weather friendly.

Yeah my .22 is 18inch (cz style ) and the hmr is a 16inch anchutz the 22 is a bit long inside the cab to be honest unless I am shooting through the passenger side window
I have seen a few with roof hatches in to shoot from?? I have a roof-rack but it's not always the right weather to be laid on roof :-(
When I am out with shottys I intend to be able to set hide at rear of 110 so I can be in and out if need be but my netting is standard dpm tank netting with clothes props !!

I should seriously consider having the cz barrel cut back. doesn't effect accuracy really, especially when you not needing long distances at night, and makes thing a whole lot easier.
I was considering trying to pick up an army landy roof, with the roof port that has a removable lid. No good if you have a roof rack though and quite frankly i'm not sure i would really use it. Much easier to open the door and step out with the lamp on the rifle if your stopping.

Have you tryed putting uv lights on landy and you can use the nv from the truck ???
Also How do you transport your guns I was going to make a rack behind bulkhead to put them on with a high tensile wire through the actions so I can lock them for short periods when driving ??

I wear the handgun, and my other full time Landy firearm is a take down rifle-shotgun combo, so it's small and discreet.

No NVGs as of yet, but someday.

I have a gun rack specifically made for a landy. Will probably attach this to the dog guard this time though. Normally mounted on back, sides.
Other option for in fields is to have a single gun padded 2 piece mount.. fixed to top of dash or even on roof. Sit gun into it when driving off road.

What lights do you have on outside of landy so far I only have one on rear above door just to make it easyer to clean / gut

I've only just got this landy so nothing on it except a rear spot right now. I have a set of bx spots in a box somewhere which is what i had on my old one. They were all faced at various angles for good coverage on a light bar.
Then i had the hand moveable one. Can't remember make though. It went with previous landy.

Best .22 to use from a Landy is a Ruger 10/22, nice short barrel and easily manouverable, the most practicle thing I use though is a piece of that grey pipe insulation with the cut in it that slides over top of the window giving a great gun rest..Cheap anorl .. :)

I use a harris swivel bi-pod when shooting of bonnet but I will try using the foam or make something for mirror . My landy has the split windows so it makes it a bit more awkward to shoot from

I lamp from my 90 all year round. In the winter we usually just put someone in the back but in the summer I take the roof and door tops off, fold the windscreen down and have a big pipe clip on each end of the dash. I can then clip a length of scaffold tube (covered in pipe lagging) along the top of the dash which makes a great rifle rest :D

On my mates 300tdi county we just pop the sun roof out then remove the cubby box and stand there...you get some great bruises around your ribs after a few hours though!
