Been looking at this discovery

1995 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY TDI AUTO GREY on eBay, also, Land Rover Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-Oct-08 19:09:38 GMT)

and wanted to know if you good folks thought it is a good buy as im thinking of having it

Need some advice quick as its 200 miles from me and i need to know if it is worth it.

Sellor says there is no rust on it at all

Lol if i had the time i would but im looking to buy today, i have seen a few local to me and they were full of holes !!!! Bloody rust is bad lol

plus i dont know anyone in that area

Just go with yer gut feeling and talk to the owner. Worst that can happen if you go to get it and don't like it is that he can neg you! It looks good and if anything's wrong you can prob fix it easy or get it done at an indie LR place for reasonable dosh...buy buy buy!

Mind you, I'm not convinced that an auto will ever be better on fuel than a manual!

Cheers for the advice , i have been watching it for a few days now and it went up to 700 then back down to 400, i just looked again and it has been bid on by three PRIVATE bidders in the space of 40 secs lol

Me thinks there is sumfing fishy about the bidding !!!!!!!!

Actually for that money for a very late "1 it looks ok and black helps, what am i talking about £700 that is feck all buy it or buy a 93 escort!!!!!! do it
In fact monging it 's a 300tdi £700 ! i want £1900 minimum for mine so av it i actually think thats a steal.
It would be handy to have a good poke around but there is buyers guides here, Rusty floors, electrics, etc etc but you have found this site so you already know . seriously under a grand is cheap for a decent (ish) one

Oil, air & fuel filters plus cleaning the fuel sedimenter.

Filter kits are available from Paddocks cost £6.28+vat for a kit of all 3 !!!!

Just been looking on the web and found a decat pipe for the diesel

says it gives it good performance gains

Assuming that your new Disco currently has a Catted exhaust, then a Defender de-cat downpipe (£21.25+vat from Paddocks) will improve performance, no doubt about it.

What does a egr blanking plate do and is it a worthy mod ???

And yes a decat pipe will be fitted once its been given a good service

then maybe a ecu remap to get the best out of it too.

I cant wait just got to figure out how to get from kent to birmingham without a car
