Out of interest, after having owned a Freelander, do you regret buying one and wish you had bought something else?

Mine is currently off the road with a duff engine management unit... however I still don't regret buying it.

I paid a little over 7K for it a few years ago and have done over 70000 miles in it... it's probably worth a realistic 3.5K now, and has cost me very little to run, apart from normal servicing.

Sure, it's got a few clunks and very minor niggles, but it's beaten much more pricey 4x4s off-road, when we've been out shooting, and was absolutely faultless in the snow this winter.

Sadly, I need a bigger car as soon as I've got the money together, but given the chance I'd definitely have another Freelander for economy, fun and as a capable off-roader.

Sometimes I do regret it, but just love to drive it :)

Definitely would consider another one. A facelift model or a FL2.

Love my Freelander and Land Rover in general. Can't really see myself going over to another brand in the near future.

2000 MY 188,000 miles ,facelifted it, stuck alloys on it, flew through MOT. Now just have to sell it to buy a van :hurt:

i have recently bought my freelander and i love it,i do worry about vcu issues and thought about going mondo mode for the summer!but maybe just leave it,the only niggle is with me is i should have bought a 3 door instead of a 5 because 5 is more pratical for me but wanted the roof off fun.Green oval all the way for me!!!!!

on my second, 2002 td4 ive got now, does everything i need and always have a landrover of some type in family,i had a rav 4 once never again, the ird or whatever they call it packed in and it cost a lot more to fix than a freelander!!!!!!!!!!11
