Hi all hope things are good.

Im looking at some new seats for the Landy later this year and was wondering how has upgraded to either of these seats in the photos and what you the comfort like?

Have you thought about buying a set of leather RX8 seats and adding a set of raised runners? They're brilliantly comfortable and can be found for no money. I paid £150 for mine with only 50k miles on them. Found on Gumtree and they look near new.

But a complete **** to get to the battery, look out of place and take up too much room. Otherwise a great option... :D

Four bolts. It's just four 10mm bolts on the seat base which takes but a few minutes to remove. The earth / rear of box is immediately accessible by just sliding the seat forward. Simples...

I got my front seats from Exmoor Trim about 10 years ago. They don't make my exact model any more but they look very like the second picture but with a separate headrest. The raised cushions at the sides stop me (and more important my partner) sliding off when you go round corners. I've tackled some long trips with them - up to 700 miles a day - and they're fine for long journeys. The only problems I've had are that the soles of my feet go a bit numb where I press on the pedals for hours at a time, but that's not Exmoor Trim's fault.

Battery won't be visible if you have the cover in place, which you should with a lead acid battery...

Have taken plenty of seats in and out of Land Rover's. It might be 4 bolts, but rarely is it ever quick or easy. Much less so if you have a centre cubby box.

Not saying they don't work for some folk, but RX-8 seats are overall a huge compromise in many areas, despite the few minor advantages they may bring. As is fitting almost any seat that isn't designed and intended for a Defender.

I have a pair of the second ones in the photo (I got them secondhand cheap) and they are quite good but my biggest gripe is they are about an inch to narrow between the side bolster.

admittedly that might be my build, I am 6ft2 and 110kg…..

so if you are less wide than that they will probably be spot on…..

l've got Puma cloth seats in my 110 and they are superb.
You'll pay more than £150 for a good set, but as most people want the heated half leather ones the basic cloth seats are quite cheap.
