Hi, Not entirely sure where to post this but I want to warn people not to buy this freelander 1. I recently part exchanged it for a freelander 2. The car has an intermittent fault that's been hanging around for over three years its had just about everything done to fix it but it keeps coming back.It has cost me a fair whack and we finally thought we'd fixed it six weeks later fault back car on low loader back to the garage. Everyone here was so helpful when I first got her that I didn't want anyone else throwing money at her....

What was fault? Just interested!!!

Absolutely no idea. It throws up a pre fuel pump query on diagnostics paired with a cam shaft sensor fault. It's had a new prefuel pump and sensor new contacts to cam shaft sensor (we switched this out with a new sensor but made no difference) Basically when warm (not hot or cold but warm) it turns over but will not catch. It used to be if you left it another half hour it would finally catch. But then it had to be left overnight before it would catch. Checked fuel pressure and injectors too. As well as the main pump being checked. There's no leaks any where nothing dodgy in the fuel tank or fuel delivery. Landrover were stumped. Lot of good that did me. The garage selling it are asking for £500less than I bought it for five years ago and I though I was shafted then but it does only have 70k on her now. 54k when I got her. I just don't want someone here buying her I'd feel guilty . The faults have been knocking around years and not worth spending the money on it.
