I have got a nice set of off road tyres (insa saharas) from my old frontera and I want to put them on me disco now but my disco is running 16" rims, are there any 15" avaliable or do they not clear brakes e.t.c.?

Its a 96 300TDi incase that makes a difference.

I am aware I will be cutting the rear valance and also suffering from a bit less lock but this is an off roading disco so am happy to suffer.

I am also planning to do a 2" lift, I have looked into it and I will be releasing all suspension components and retightening after fighting to prevent stressing bushes, is there anything else I should be doing though? Essential stuff?

Cheers for any advice

not sure about wheel fitment maybe the old series landys had 15s on them, but if your planning a 2" lift and putting smaller wheels on its gonna look a bit strange normally a lift is in anticipation of fitting bigger wheels and tyres, why dont you sell the 15" tyres and buy some 16s ?

33. 10.50. 15 best tyre size about and dont look stupid with a lift fill the arches perfectly, yes 15's fit perfect on a disco i run them myself, what size are the insa's you are putting on ? you need atleast 32inch tyres.... otherwise it will look daft... but then dont listen to everyone you might like the look .....

I have got 31/10.5 tyres at the moment, im not gonna be lifting it straight away so hoping they will fit underneath for now. I have been told that sticking with the 31's will help me with low down power, afterall its only a 300TDi and I want to climb some hills!!

Do you have any pics of 31's/33's on discos? I am very new to discos, havent seen too many e.t.c.

On the main page you will see a thread that lists all tyre sizes for the disco. Search around and there are plenty of threads to help. I know it's frustrating sometimes but I found myself just searching often got me what I needed. I got my 15" wheels from paddocks but for greater offset you can go to garage 4x4

Well I have got them today, fitted my tyres and put them on the disco, turns out they fit but you need to remove the front bumper and I have no real lock at present, the lift should sort that out though...

Heres a pic:

Sorted! :D

You should start a thread mate, keep all your questions/answers in one place.

If you don't want to bodylift btw a 40mm lift on blocks does just fine on 31s with a camel cut, and costs about £1 :D

fitted 32" terras on 15" rims to the green machine. had to remove lower front bumper valance and fitted 1" spacers to rear springs. That might be due to knackered springs tho. Small camel cut and fold over the rear wheel arch otherwise it cut the outer edge of the tyres. doesnt seem to rub know. still has ARBs tho.
